Brownie Girl Scouts
try new things such as dancing, arts and crafts and work on recognitions called "Try-Its"

Junior Girl Scouts
explore music, math and science, outdoor fun, art and business as they earn badges.

Girl Scout Gold Award


 

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. When a Senior Girl Scout makes the effort to earn this award, she expresses a special commitment to herself, her community, and her future. This award is earned by completing multiple requirements leading up to a final project that will benefit the community and Girl Scouting. Numerous college scholarships are available for Gold Award recipients.

Girl Scout Silver Award

 


The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest achievement a Cadette Girl Scout can earn. It recognizes efforts in a range of Girl Scout and community experiences as will as their commitment to working to better their life and the lives of others.

 

Girl Scout Bronze Award
This is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn.
It shows you have make a promise to help others, improve your community and world, and become the best you can be.

Leadership Opportunities

Program Aide
(PA
) (7th to 12th grade)

This workshop will give girls a knowledge base that will enhance the development of their skills and abilities when working directly with a troop/group (under the supervision of an adult volunteer).

Leader-in-Training (LIT) (10th to 12th grade)
Participants must have completed 9th grade and enjoy working with younger girls on an ongoing basis. It requires a commitment of attending council-approved trainings, 6-8 hours of troop/group observation, and an internship under a trained mentor leader for a minimum of 25 hours.

Senior Girl Scout Troop Assistant
(SGSTA)
Once a girl has completed an LIT internship, she may choose to serve as a Senior Girl Scout Troop Assistant. This involves a commitment of a full troop year, for both the girl and the leader. Contact: Carlene Brady

Community Service
Community service is central to Girl Scouting. All Girl Scouts
participate in various community service projects.


  Troop 79 of Cleveland participated in the Tennessee River Rescue project.
  Troop 403 used their day off from the St. Jude School to help out in the Community Kitchen.
  Troop 80 is shown packing collected food for Thanksgiving meals.
  Troop 214 made a dog & cat scarecrow for the annual service project on Signal Mountain.
  Troop 499 at Bright School collected over 500 holiday cards for the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
